PINWHEEL HOUSE NEAR CHASTAIN PARK
One of two buildings created for the Points of View studio, this home modifies the elementary shape of the cube to create a home for a family in the Chastain Park neighborhood of Atlanta. The home is anchored by a central atrium, allowing light into the heart of the architecture throughout all times of day. The most public spaces of the home—dining room, living room, and bar—branch off from the atrium, while the home’s private spaces—library, master and guest bedroom, office and kitchen—can be found on the perimeter or the corners of the home. Southeastern views from the home look down onto the Creecy Gallery, and large windows across the home frame the views to the surrounding neighborhood. Several nooks can be found throughout the home: the reading nook in the library offers residents a place to lounge and relax, while the kitchen’s breakfast nook allows for intimate meals that look out onto the home’s garden below.
